Generative Site Analysis

One possible rethinking of the space. With multi-use residential and retail space to define the street, while the interior of the lot gets restored into the old baseball field for the community.

In this diagram I am showing the development of the area from 1924 to the present the black is what is currently built the yellow is from 1924.  Not only is there a huge amount of development but the buildings become multi-family apartment buildings.  The area along the east coast is also developed with the implementation of the Lynn Shore Dr reservation.  The reservation however is also the reason for the major roadway that cuts off easy access to the water.

Historical Timeline of Site Usages

Map of Lynn 1926,
During this time the area around the water front way mainly the business district with single family residences on the inner streets of the city.

Map of Lynn 1959,
The waterfront in this area now has become completely converted into business and industrial zones coming from the growing GE complex down the street.

Map of Lynn 1977,
The city has now rezoned the area into a high rise residential district.  Very few actual high rise buildings get built here. In the 1980's a fire broke out that destroyed most of what was built in the area.  A large portion of what was destroyed was rebuilt as the Campus of the North Shore Community College on the Lynnway just northwest of the site.
